Is the hyena more feline or canine?

genetically it is more related to the cat then the dog, though it has more of a dog like appearance. They aren't in the same family though they are in there own family called Hyaenidae. They are most closely related to the mongoose and meerkat family, which is why they are also related to the cat family as the cat family is related to the mongoose and meerkat.
