In the UK what are universities attitudes to mature students?
I am a prospective mature student who achieved BCCa at A-Level in 2004. I then performed badly in my bachelors degree (3rd Cl Hons) due to motivational/lifestyle issues but am desperate to makes ammends by studying the subject I should have done in the first place - English Literature. I have been working in a sales environment since my graduation in 2007 and have enough money to put myself through university full time - but am intrigued to know whether my application will be seen favourably or not? I will 23 when I start and have explained in my personal statement the reasons for my poor performance in my last degree but am worried it may be held against me? Also, I have applied to courses with entry requirements from CCC to ABB - what do you think my chances are??
