Do clothes every dry on the clothesline in the winter?

I hung my clothes out at 8 am this morning. My dryer broke and I had a lot of laundry to do and dont want to drive the 10 mi to town to dry them. I just now took them down because the sun is going to set in 20 minutes. They are still wet. Do clothes ever dry on the line in the winter?
